Avelo Airlines Makes Wilmington Delaware Airport its East Coast Base
Low cost airline, Avelo Airlines, announced today that Wilmington Airport in Delaware will be its newest east coast base. the Wilington Airport Facebook page has been teasing us for the past few days regarding the announcement.
Avelo will start service in February 1 2023 and offer service to 5 non-stop destinations in Florida: Ft. Lauderdale, Ft. Meyers, Tampa, and West Palm Beach. At time of press, fares were showing as $49 in February.
The Delaware airport has been without air service since Spirit departed this summer.
Delaware Governor John Carney said “We’ve made significant infrastructure investments across our state, and we’re pleased to have Avelo join us here in Delaware. Avelo will provide Delawareans and visitors a convenient way to travel. Thank you to Avelo for choosing Delaware.”
Avelo Airlines services 32 destinations across the US, making use of 737 Next Generation aircraft. The new airline started flying on April 28, 2021.
