MIDDLE TOWNSHIP, Oct. 20, 2026 — Two county residents walking in a wooded area in the Edgewood section of Middle Township found human remains Tuesday, the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office says.
They reported the discovery to Middle Township police right away, and investigators from the department and the Prosecutor's Office opened an investigation.
The remains have not been identified. The investigation is ongoing, and there is no threat to the public at this time, Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland said. More information will be released as it becomes available.
