CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE, Nov. 3, 2026 — U.S. Sen. Cory Booker, a Democrat, won a third full term Tuesday over Republican Justin Murphy, a former Tabernacle deputy mayor, the Associated Press projected shortly after polls closed at 8 p.m.
Independent Veronica Fernandez and Socialist Workers Party candidate Joanne Kuniansky were also on the ballot.
Booker, a former Newark mayor, entered the Senate in 2013 after winning a special election following the death of Sen. Frank Lautenberg, and won his first full term in 2014. Republicans have not won a U.S. Senate race in New Jersey since 1972, the New Jersey Monitor reports.
Murphy is an attorney and U.S. Navy veteran.
