CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE, Nov. 6, 2026 — Cape May County is lighting three county buildings green through Nov. 11 for Operation Green Light for Veterans, a nationwide effort to honor people who served, the county says.
The County Administration Building, the Gerald M. Thornton Veterans Cemetery and the county Health Department are lit for the campaign.
“Our veterans have made immeasurable sacrifices to protect our freedoms and our way of life,” said Leonard C. Desiderio, director of the Board of County Commissioners. “By illuminating these important county facilities in green, we honor their service, reaffirm that they are not forgotten and highlight the resources and support available to them and their families right here in Cape May County.”
The county is asking residents and businesses to show a green light at home or work.
The Board of County Commissioners holds its Veterans Day ceremony Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 1 p.m. at the Gerald M. Thornton Veterans Cemetery, 127 Crest Haven Road, Cape May Court House.
